LATEST SINGLE : Happy MillionYear
THE INSPIRATION : Actually, it was the thought came to me first.
In morning hours of January 2011, I was at work washing up some dishes. I heard my phone messaging going crazy, I know it was friends and families calling to wish me HAPPY NEW YEAR, I said to myself, I will check the messages later, but something prompt me to stop washing the dishes and listen to the messages.
After listening to all messages, there was something came in my spirit and said, call everyone up and wish them (happy millions) for the year 2011.
I said to myself, every year we all wish each other Happy New Year, but year 2010 there not much to be happy about. Major financial breakdowns which causes friends and families to fall apart, but through the grace of the Most High some survived it.
Jah place us on this earth to achieve the greatest, “so why settle for less”? I started reasoning with Jah, saying you said we should have dominion over all things and you Jah gave us wisdom, knowledge and overstanding so whatsoever my mind thinks it can be done by faith through you.
I didn’t thought about writing these lyrics then. I got home and find myself spiritually stabled in the car, suddenly I could feel the vibes of accomplishments, knowing where I’m coming from, where I’m at and the plans in place for the future. I said Jah, so many people have good ideas in there head but fearful to let it manifest. I thought about a great friend of mine called Mickey Mouse at Free Town Clarendon who survived off the land, I learn many technique from his natural teaching.
I remembered one day back in 1980 we were eating some fish from is fresh catch. He said to me he knows how to build a plane, only if he could get the materials he needed. He got a piece of stick and started drawing the diagram in the dirt, I was very young but all those things came back to me that day which helped me to find the hook for this inspirational lyrics. I know because he is a bush man people would say he can’t, but I’m a true testimony of Yes I Can. Thanks to Mickey Mouse the fresh water fisherman from Free Town, Clarendon. Jamaica.
