Michael “Absolute” Blackley proudly hails from Spartanburg, South Carolina from a neighborhood known as “Little Africa”. Blackley credits his love of lyricism to rappers like Snoop Dogg, Biggie, and Tupac who not only inspired his music, but also helped him relate to his own reality. At 8 years old, Blackley was dubbing and selling tapes on the karaoke machine his parents bought him as a child, and by 17 he was in the studio recording mixtapes for distribution. While offered several record deals over the course of his career, Absolute Da General strives to remain an independent artist, challenging himself to grow as both an artist and a businessman.
