“You wear a lot of hats”. This quote has been used often to describe Scoop Lo.
Heralded as phenomenal performer who's opened and toured with the likes of Trey Songz, Jay Sean,Travis Porter, Fabolous and Omarion he brings something a little more compelling to each performance as he leaves everything on the stage. Having toured with BET and the leading boarding brand Quiksilver he has had the chance to perform on a global scale including Paris,London and across North America. These moments have left him very optimistic in his collaborations with producers, writers and peers. To think all this started on Catherine street in Philadelphia Pennsylvania where he first met Rick Watson. Watson was instrumental in grooming the young upstart into a multitalent. As a wide eyed sometimes arrogant teen he was as hard headed as he was talented. Then again who wasn’t. He continued on a path becoming a staple on Kiss 101.7 and pre- Clear Channel wired 96.5. This caught the attention of Shani Gonzalez formerly of Defjam and Temple alumni. They were introduced threw a mutual friend Stephen Strother. Stephen had been instrumental in megastar Usher's beginnings in the music industry and said he saw in Scoop what saw so long ago in Usher. Even though he was described as a hip hop artist by default it seemed his performances pulled more from pop and rb. Even some of the records sounded more rb then hip hop. The formula worked as far as he was concerned so he continued on to collab with the likes of Ne-yo,Bobby V, Omarion and Fedarro. Never steering away from education he continued to pursue his degree at FDU. Coming from a mixed Jamaican family education very important. Armed with this knowledge and degree he started to work along side artists like Fefe Dobson, Tinashe, and Foxes as far artist repertoire and vocal production. This work led him to become a voting member of the Grammy association and during this time he became involved with Beluga heights becoming involved Jason Derulo's FutureHistory. He went on to expand his resume by making appearances in Nurse Jackie and frequently apart of FUSE network programing. Recently he has been working with Warner brothers and is set to release a promotional project with them. He also started a entertainment company with two current entertainers including Dj Aqeuous who has done frequent work with HBO True Blood and Philly's own diamond Kuts. His other artist Heather Gin has just won Seattle music award and has just released her single “Classy Girl Strut” which was written by Scoop and produced by Chester native Jahlil Beats. Not bad for the hard headed kid.
