Twenty-two-year-old Jacob Seeger has taken a different approach towards his music. By switching out an acoustic guitar for synths, Seeger has created a rhythmic sound listeners can’t help but groove with. Working with new producers, friends, and collaborators alike, "Something Real" is the second product in a string of releases this summer helping reveal Seeger’s new sound to the world.
Jacob’s switch in sound was sparked by a yearning to make people move. He realized after self-reflection that not all music has to be serious, revealing or intense, and that music intended simply to get people to dance is just as valuable as music that makes people reflect. Seeger’s previous sound resembled that of a singer-songwriter, while he wrote, recorded, and produced all of the music by himself. However, he wanted to make music similar to the music he enjoyed listening to most: R&B and Pop. Now, he makes it a priority to work with other producers who can further help craft his sound.
Co-producing "Something Real" with Cairo Marques-Neto was a turning point for the singer. He realized the importance of collaborating and has begun honing in on the sound he wants as an artist. The new single is a summer anthem listeners can jam to in their car with the top down, vibe to in a lounge or club, or even just groove with and enjoy at home.
Released on July 20, "Something Real" is on all major music platforms including Spotify and iTunes. For more information about Jacob visit his website and Instagram.
