Revisiting his vintage R&B sampling days of production phases gone by, Kanye West's single "Bound 2" feels a bit nostalgic. It seems like only recently we were introduced to Kanye West's distinct sped-up soul/R&B samples and cartoonish drum patterns when in fact it's been well over a decade since his Rocafella renaissance days. So just in case you weren't feeling old today, you're welcome. "Bound 2" features vocals from former Gap Band frontman and slick-ass uncle, Charlie Wilson a.k.a. the musical gift that keeps on giving and only gets better with age. Despite harkening back to the sound of his early days, the lighthearted, earnest delivery is nowhere to be found. We're met with something much more brooding, more mature and perhaps even a little bored. What we can take away from all of this is what we already know: Kanye West does whatever the fuck he wants - and that includes calling his album "Yeezus" and releasing it without any artwork.
