Kid Ink’s had a busy 2014 so far. After the much-delayed release of his third album My Own Lane last month, the Los Angeles rapper hasn’t let us forget about him, with his remix of The Man by Aloe Blacc. Blacc is just coming out of a big year himself with Avicii’s famed Wake Me Up, while Kid Ink put in a stellar supporting spot on Chris Brown’s Show Me. The remix itself is a pretty standout track; with so many remixes now being cluttered with a bunch of differing artists vying for attention, the luxury of being able to sit back and listen to Kid Ink’s sweet-as-pie rapping is somewhat of a pleasure. The flow is tight, leaving enough of the song untouched to make Ink’s own contribution an edgy, bursting-at-the-seams energy seem all the more brilliant. Three albums in, still one to watch.
