Chicago, IL – Record Family Music Group Publishing Co. released their first debut album on Brian Record, son of the late former lead singer, songwriter and producer of The Chi-Lites, Eugene Record. The name of the album is “Dressin’ and Steppin’.” His main source of inspiration, of course, comes from his father, Eugene Record. One of the songs on the album entitled, Skyrocket, features a sample of one of Eugene Record’s never before released repertoire. The family plans to continue releasing unheard vocals from Mr. Eugene Record’s silky smooth voice that have been heard for decades on lead vocals with the Chi-Lites such as hits like “Oh Girl” which has not only topped the R&B and Pop Award Charts, but also Country, “Have You Seen Her,” which he co-wrote with his dynamic writing partner, Barbara Acklin, and “Are You My Woman,” which influenced Beyonce’s hit, “Crazy in Love,” off her debut solo album which was sampled from that 1960’s song.
Most of the music on this album was produced by Brian Record himself. It contains a smooth selection of steppin’ cuts that once it hits your ears, you can’t help but move your feet and get in the groove. His unique style will keep you intrigued and constantly listening for more and more. Each song has its own vibe and originality. It makes it hard to believe that it only took Brian four months to complete this compilation.
