DJ Lisa Love® started her DJ career in 1984 Upstate NY at Ham's Place. She honed her skills while in college 1984-1988, while pursuing a college degree (BA Sociology/Psychology) on a full basketball scholarship. May 2018 DJ Lisa Love® (Lisa McAdoo) was inducted into Clarion University Sports Hall of Fame.
In 2000 DJ Lisa Love® moved back to Philadelphia in pursuit of DJ’ing professionally. She was hired as a sound technician for the former Brave New World Nightclub which hosted a weekly event (House of Soul) by Come Kleen Productions. As fate would have it DJ Lisa Love® was given the chance to shine when Come Kleen’s CEO John Barber, III took a chance and put her on the “wheels” when his regular DJ failed to show. Needless to say, he was impressed with her skills. Neither one has looked back since. DJ Lisa Love® has opened for celebrities and recording artists such as LL Cool J, Joe, Jennifer Hudson, Kim Fields, Terrence Howard, Jadakiss, Styles P, Kenny Lattimore, Eric Roberson, Faith Evans, Kindred The Family Soul, Jon B, Tank, Lenny Williams, Will Downing, Marsha Ambrosius, Bilal, Black Sheep, Eric Roberson, Glenn Lewis, Cedric the Entertainer and many others. She was the first female DJ in Philadelphia on a major radio station (Power 99 FM), ”spinning music” for Tiffany Bacon show, 'Inner City' and Golden Girl show 2001-2003.
She appeared as cameo in the documentary ‘Scene Not Heard: Women in Philadelphia Hip Hop’ and has appeared in several publications touting her prowess as a DJ, such as the DJ Times Magazine, May 2012.
DJ Lisa Love® owns and operates the More Than Music DJ Institute, founded in 2007 where she has taught over 1600 DJ students! Thanks to Carolyn Chernoff and Rashida Holmes of Girls DJ Collective she got the idea and blessings from them.
Recently retired from a 25 year career from the Federal Department of Justice, (8/26/1990 to 2/29/2016), she is currently living in Upstate NY and is the Character Education Coordinator in a high school. She also opened a t-shirt company, Remedy Teez by DJ Lisa Love.
And if that isn’t enough, she also works as an Independent Contractor for Yardout Entertainment securing recording artists for many events. 2017 and 2018, she connected Yardout Entertainment and Tomika McFadden for the two most successful Philadelphia Urban Health Music Festivals in history booking major artists such as Dru Hill, Lenny Williams, Denise Williams, SWV, Estelle, and T.I. and many others. With perseverance, determination and an unquestionable passion for music DJ Lisa Love® has provided outreach to many trailblazing a path for those who love music and the art of DJing.
She also helps people repair their credit as The Credit DJ.
