Just like Muhammad Ali, "Cashies" is a controversial artist. Muhammad Ali displayed his skills in and out of the boxing ring. "Cashies Da Storyteller" displays his skills in his music along with the lyrics. Originality is needed along with the ability to create great concepts, crafty adlibs, and crafty punch lines that keeps his listening audience memorize. The depiction of his lifestyle and the music he betrays in the stories he tells of his life or of the people around him. "Cashies Da Storyteller" music is timeless yet creative. The art of storytelling is being able to make a songs that has the ability to tap into people's emotions no matter if it's a dance or a political song.
On August 23, 1983 "Cashies Da Storyteller" was born Michael Neil Motley, to the parents of Willie and Nell Motley. "Cashies" is the youngest of four kids. His musical influences came during early childhood. As a small child "Cashies" would take one of his mom's kitchen spoons to bang on his make believe drum set that actually turned out be only her pots and pans. His mom recognized that he was musically inclined, so she made it her mission to enter "Cashies" in talent shows that were held at his daycare center. Even at a young age his impersonation of the late Michael Jackson's "Thriller" routine left a huge impression with everyone.
Once "Cashies" entered high school his love of R&B quickly change to Hip-Hop. In high school he eventually joined the marching band. This helped him get a better understanding of how to play and read music. After going through the life experiences of high school "Cashies" earned his high school diploma. The high school chapter of his life had ended and he began to run in and out of the streets. Going to college was not an option for him, he felt there was no need.
"Cashies" enrolled into The Job Corp Program that eventually landed him in Kentucky. This is were he was exposed to different cultural, ethnic backgrounds, and other worldviews. After a year in the Job Corp, "Cashies" graduated with a trade in Business Tech. After graduating he was thrown back into society by working on numerous jobs. He struggled to maintain regular employment because he kept gravating back into the streets.
In 2005, "Cashies" landed a job at the Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Company, in which he is currently employed. Within the last nine years of his life "Cashies" musical root were calling him back. In 2012, he dropped his first mixtape hosted by Hoodrich DJ Lil Keem titled 'Missing Pages'. "Cashies Da Storyteller" achieved success with his first mixtape 'Missing Pages' that he proceeded with his second mixtape titled 'My Journal', which was hosted by DJ Frank White. "Cashies Da Storyteller music has the potential to reach a different platform and it should be heard around the world.
