Nova found tremendous success with the indie underground release Rock U in 2015. She was the vocalist and verses-writer for the song, along with hook-writer/producer NEON and producers Malik Mustache & Vinne. Further success came in 2016 with Toolroom Records release of I Like That with producers David Keno and Stage Rockers. Then in 2018 she independently released Dress Me (producers Elliaz and FatKat), Rich (cowritten/collab vocals with Mogli da FoulChild, produced by NEON, Evoxx. Remixed by Fenk) and Diamonds (produced by Evoxx and Fenk. Remixed by Vincce E Luo). Diamonds and Rich continue to be 2 of her top grossing releases to date, proving that indie labels can stand just fine on their own! Also released in 2018 was Freak through Jango Music, with producers Sugarstarr and Stage Rockers. The remix by Djorda Luigia has appeared a handful of times on various dance compilations as well. Capo & Comes and Peverell remixes do rather well too. Freak continues to climb in Samantha’s top grossing tracks.
Samantha Nova is not the type of person that likes being put into a box. The same reflects in her music. She experiments with different sounds and styles. So, to try and classify her music to one particular genre is like trying to stuff a star shaped peg into an oval shaped socket. It’s just not going to fit.
Music can be diverse. You don’t have to speak the language to understand the vibe. The rules are not set in stone, and the opinions of others don’t matter.. and as long as your music is able to resonate with the listener, then you’ve done well my friend. Some people go to therapy, others find a creative outlet. If you’re lucky enough to find what makes your soul happy and even luckier to make a living out of it…
Well then by all means, do what makes you happy.
