Any song that’s released as the lead single for a movie soundtrack is usually met with some scepticism. That’s the nature of the beast-however good the song, everyone’s going to eternally link it to that movie, whether the film is good or bad. Lucky, then, that the new Alicia Keys single works pretty well even when you forget that it’s part of the much-anticipated Amazing Spiderman 2. Featuring Kendrick Lemar, It’s ON Again is definitely more based around the talents of the main star-Kendrick only gets about half a minute of hectic rapping (in which he succeeds justifying why he should be in the song in the first place). It then hands over the a smooth, delicious piano with Keys much-missed voice carrying the rest of the number. Warm, rich-and a great way to sell a movie.
