Red Cafe's original "A World Alone" ft. Lorde is essentially the story of two lovers who feel out of place in the world they inhabit. If the original song is vaguely written, the remix borders on meaningless chatter. The "A World Alone" remix begins slow, and from the beginning the hook and beat seem almost cacophonous. While Red's verses flow well with the beat, Lorde's unique harmony seems too lengthy for the cadence, and for the first few minutes, this definitely throws off the song. Red's lyrics are well executed but difficult to relate to the ultimate meaning of the song, rendering the entire piece likable based on the music alone. Towards the bridge and conclusion of "A World Alone (Remix)," Lorde and Red finally bring their sounds together in harmony for a pleasurable experience, but overall, the remix lacks genuine substance.
