Mary J. Blige is bouncin' on a man who won't treat her right. Is anyone surprised? "Suitcase" is one more of many lady-strength ballads from the the queen of self-respect and independence. Though some of Mary's tracks feature a loving vibe through the pain, in "Suitcase" she's clearly had enough, and she doesn't even have time to listen to his excuses. She needs that time to zip her suitcase full of belongings and get the hell out. After all she's been through, Mary J. doesn't need to give us any reason to leave a man who isn't amazing, and no hard feelings that she's leaving while he sleeps. As always, Mary sets a beautiful example of a strong woman who knows what she's worth, even if it took her a while to get there. Ladies, take a lesson from this one.
