The video for Dillon Francis and Skrillex's "Bun Up the Dance" is definitely weird, and almost cultish in its dedication to fire and light. But based on the song's lyrics, it only seems appropriate. In fact, metaphorically, the video's message is right on point and the lighting and camera work mimic just the type of atmosphere you might find these two haunting.
"Bun Up the Dance" has no main protagonist, instead featuring various characters, all a little strange in their own right and not interrelated at all, save for their love of dance. Oh, and their undeniable attraction to light, almost like moths. From the timid woman amid a greenhouse array of plants to the braided dancer among numerous TVs, each of the "Bun Up the Dance" characters is bunned up to the idea of dancing with no more ability to resist the music and rhythm than... a moth has to flame. You see what they did there?
