The video for Kygo's highly anticipated newest hit, "Stole the Show" dropped this week at the YouTube Music Awards, featuring two Daft Punk-esque alien astronauts. After crash landing in a forest near a house party, the video's protagonists quickly take over the spotlight with their seamless dance moves and silent presence. It's clear that these two are impressive-stealing the show even-but like Kygo and his counterpart, this isn't a debut that can lead to lasting acceptance.
Symbolic of Kygo and his partner, these astronauts soon find themselves in the middle of chaos. Forced to retreat back to the way things were, they leave only the memory of the show they temporarily commandeered. Kygo's experience might not be with an extraterrestrial, but anyone who's been part of a short-lived relationship knows that sometimes, the show can't go on. So it's best to enjoy it while you can.
