Dwells. Dwells. Dwells. The DJ's name is one to keep on the mind when considering the present and future state of DJing, and music as a whole. You should already have an idea of the skills he possesses from our exclusive video interview and recording of one of his routines. If you haven't, we'll wait for you to catch up… Since that video, he's been preparing this year for the DMC World tournament. He made it to the US Finals but placed behind DJs Precision and Manwell. Although he may have expressed interests in moving on from competitive DJing in the past, something tells us that he won't step away until he comes home with the belt.

Despite the judges at this year's US Finals who didn't think it was 1st place worthy, there are still a lot of gems in this routine from Dwells. It starts off fast with some fader chopping then eases into a Reggae track before a scratch heavy segment. He balances out vocal samples throughout the set to give you a moment to collect yourself. Dwells makes the most out of his Rane mixer by scratching with added sound effects and cueing up samples right on time. Then he beat juggles an EDM song just as fast as his scratches that sounds like an original, recorded song if you weren't watching him. He does minimal alterations to Rustie's "Attak" but then does more than you can imagine with his body tricks and beat juggling on what seems like a slow EDM song but has fast paced nuances. Dwells ends the routine in classic DJ fashion with confidence and disses for everyone else. We salute you, Dwells.
