Show and Prove with Tha Beatlounge

It's always dope and tough to feature DJs from outside of the states or just countries that don't have English as a primary language: it's dope to see other cultures so engrossed in DJing yet it's tough to find decent background information on them. But the show must go on! Tha Beatlounge is not only a three man DJ crew from Thailand but also a venue that boasts being the only place with street culture in Bangkok. Whatdatfrog, Spydamonkee, and Jedie hold sway at the venue and have been scratching together since 1995. Their English may be rough around the edges but their skills on the turntables definitely aren't.

This is a round winning set here, ladies and gentlemen. It beat out CTA's routine from last week's post and we can see the argument for it. With less members, they were able to do just as much as the CTA and just as cleanly. Each member is like a professional symphony orchestra player, coming in on cue for his part as scripted but also laying down technically impressive, freestyled scratches. The :30 mark is a perfect example as they each take a line of music to create a full track. While Spydamonkee finesses a MPC solo, the other two fill in the gaps for your enjoyment. With DJ able to cut into any lane while playing his particular lane well, there's no telling what they'll pull off in the DMC Team Finals.
