It used to be that you could trust rappers to tell you about real life. The harsh realities of young urban living became the inspiration for many of the greatest hip-hop tracks of all time. Nowadays though, it seems that everybody is rapping about a life they're pretending to live. With the exception of a precious few, it's all a front, making most MCs about as genuine as a modern Presidential Candidate. This is why we were highly refreshed when we came across Tok Sik and his recent release 'Penny Pinchin'. The beat is on point and the concept is a romantic one about how he doesn't have much money but he will save it all for his lady. Awww. We love it. As an MC, it's clear that Tok Sik is proficient in his craft and we hope to see more success from this bona fide purveyor of legit hip-hop.
