B.R.A.Y.L. was born and raised in Aliquippa, Pennsylvania. Growing up in a musical environment, B.R.A.Y.L. recognized early on, the emotional impact that music had on people. As an adolescent B.R.A.Y.L.’s uncle introduced him to the sound of music greats like War, Marvin Gaye, Parliament Funkadelic, Michael Jackson and LL Cool J, to name a few. B.R.A.Y.L began emulating these artist and their music as a way to pay homage to the art form he began to love.
By age 18, Bryson began entering weekly hip hop talent shows which allowed him to showcase and hone his musical abilities. Becoming a regular performer of the Slippery Rock University's Thursday night talent show, gave Bryson the opportunity to enhance his writing skills thus titling him "The Best Lyricist" on campus. Though Bryson already had a love for music, these opportunities segued to a stronger passion--producing, singing and free-style rapping. His distinct and multi-faceted ability in this genre of music is what began to set B.R.A.Y.L apart from all others making him a triple threat. B.R.A.Y.L. was revered as a natural born "show stopper" known for moving the crowd and bringing them to their feet. After paying close attention to the effect he had on people, Bryson decided to relocate to Atlanta, Georgia to effortlessly pursue his dream--music.
Bryson’s goal was to develop an image unlike any other, hence the name B.R.A.Y.L was born. The acronym derived from the notion that just like the visually impaired have to feel Braille in order to understand it, you have to feel B.R.A.Y.L.’s music to get the full impact of it. In addition, B.R.A.Y.L stands for “Be Real All Your Life,” which is how the artist lives life and without compromise.
B.R.A.Y.L. has expanded his song writing abilities to include different genres of music, however, he is devoted to his first love--Hip-Hop. B.R.A.Y.L’s goal is to be a “larger than life” musical influence to the world, and with passion, diligence and determination, it is well within reach.
