Style: Old School Hip hop
W.O.N.E. grew up listening to mostly old school hip hop but listens to anything that can put him in a certain mood or groove. Influences include; Anything from A Tribe Called Quest and KRS-One, to Curtis Mayfield and Al Green, to Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Metallica, to George Clinton and Bob Marley. "I pride myself on making very lyrically driven tracks. Not just some dumb it down radio Rap. I may not have the illest rap voice or catchiest club tunes but i'll always leave you thinkin and maybe even Rewinding." Did we mention he designs all of his own album art, presses his own t-shirts, and hands out his own lighters as business cards?
RESUME:
W.O.N.E.has opened for the likes of Masta Ace, Bizzy Bone (Bone thugs n Harmony), Wise Intelligent (Poor Righteous Teachers), Kool Keith (Ultramagnetic Ecmees), and more as well as playing numerous local events and even headlining a few. He has perfomed at Delaware's Queen Theatre, Philadelphia's famed Trocadero, and even traveling as far as Providence, Rhode Island. One of his largest accomplishments was booking his birthday show in November of 2013, where (with help from Lyrically Fit founder, Jay Grady) he booked Reef The Lost Cauze who is most known for his work with Army of the Pharaohs. It was the 1st show he booked from the ground up including bringing out the headliner, booking openers, pulling double duty as both performer and promoter, setting up the show lighting, and even setting up and working the merch booth. However this creative artist has merely scratched the surface of his potential so keep your eyes and ears open for this "WONE" of a kind emcee and what's yet to come.
