Show and Prove with the Tracktitioners

For some reason, tracking down information on the Tracktitioners is almost as difficult as trying to copy their latest DMC entry. The California DJ duo is currently composed of DJ Defect and DJ Chopps. It appears that DJ Defect replaced DJ Curse, who is now a part of the Beat Junkies. The little we do know about the Tracktitioners is that they've put a few great mixes together as part of their "60 Minutes" series. Another factoid you should know: they just won the 2nd heat of the DMC Online Team Championship. Expect to learn more about them in the near future as all eyes and ears turn to them for the finals.

And just like that, last week's Show & Prove with Tha Beatlounge has been conquered just like it once did to the Chicago Turntablist Authority's. The Tracktitioners get busy in their routine by focusing on the ability of a DJ to produce live music with the turntables, sprinkling in scratches to spice it up. Defect starts by using a Jazz trumpet sample to improvise his own solo while Chopps handles the drums. They transition nicely into Gang Starr's "Now You're Mine." They continue to be sync with a quick back and forth scratch. Chopps then uses the pitch control on his Technic to make a new bassline for Defect to rip up. It ends with both trading bars of scratching. Both DJs are proficient at solo DJ techniques and they've come up with clever ways of incorporating them into a team routine. Best of luck to these guys in the next round!
