I am America. I am the part you won't recognize. But get used to me. Black, confident, cocky; my name, not yours; my religion, not yours; my goals, my own; get used to me. -Muhammad Ali Government name Joshua Whitley, J_E_Mini was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL. J_E_Mini's music can be described as authentic. Reaching from trials and tribulations (life), J_E_Mini puts his life into his music. As of now, J_E_Mini is working on collaborations with other LGBT artists in NY and NJ. Since grade school, I have had a passion for music. From the recorder to the trumpet, from the trumpet to the tenor sax, from the the tenor sax to the tuba, I have gained much knowledge on music. By learning instruments in these different classes, I developed a love for every aspect of music. I treat the music as if it is my life. I nurture it before I send it out into nature. After moving to NY, J_E_Mini started out dancing. When he had the opportunity to showcase his writing, J_E_Mini received many kudos from family and friends. He didn't really grasp it all until other artists began to like and share their feedback with him. J_E_Mini, being as humble as he is, sets him apart from MANY artists. No matter how big J_E_Mini gets; He will always welcome aspiring artists to educate and learn from as we all grow together. J_E_Mini has done showcases involving Def Jam reps in Queens, The LGBT Expo, NYC Pride, NYPD's Night Out Against Violence in the Bronx, radio interviews, etc. There is so much more to come! J_E_Mini is constantly working on new projects to put into the world. From collaborations with other artists, dancing backup for other artists, or just writing to build his portfolio; J_E_Mini never stops grinding. Don't put J_E_Mini in a box when it comes to entertainment. J_E_Mini is a force to be reckoned with.
