Byron “Skypp” Horton (f/k/a Lil Skypp) is an independent music artist. Skypp is based in the heart of the crossroads of America: Indianapolis, Indiana. SEA nominated deejay and local tastemaker DJ Panic says this about Skypp: “Skypp is a conscious emcee that combines the fundamental arts of story-telling and wordplay to create a unique vibe that encourages independent thinking among his listeners. He’s a very entertaining artist, providing music for the soul.” Writing songs in multiple genres ranging from Alternative Rock to R&B, Skypp boldly manifests his versatility. Skypp founded Sophisticated Street Music to further satisfy his desire to be an all-around music mogul tuning his skills in music & video production and audio engineering. Skypp released his first project, WRITTEN & DIRECTED, in 2011; on the same day his best friend Doc was murdered. WRITTEN & DIRECTED received positive reviews from his fans and the media. Skypp‘s second project, SOPHISTICATED STREET MUSIC, released in 2012. This album was the beginning of Skypp‘s reign. Skypp self-distributed SOPHISTICATED STREET MUSIC through his label, SSM LLC. He also received positive reviews on this project. A few weeks after the release Skypp held an album release party in his hometown of Indianapolis, IN. The show sold out and was even shut down early due to the amount of people exceeding the venue’s limit. Skypp‘s third project, HUMILITY, was released March 18, 2015. The EP debuted at number 29 on the iTunes charts for new Hip-Hop/R&B music. Since the release Skypp has received positive reviews from fans, media outlets, blog sites, deejays, family & friends. HUMILITY is available for download and streaming anywhere online. Skypp‘s fourth and most recent project, JAFFE, was released June 24, 2016. JAFFE is titled after his childhood bestfriend, Dakarai Jaffe, who passed away in 2011. Skypp has stated numerous times how pleased he is with this album and the amount of time and money invested. JAFFE is available for download and streaming everywhere online.
