Swedish producer Monuson teams up with singer Kami Diser, for Firm Grip. It’s a hypnotic, trance-like piece of music, ideal for the early part of a set. That said, it would be even better at sunrise. Over slow, loping groove and detuned bass, Kami Diser is losing her firm grip. Her breathy, uninhibited vocals are a call to lose yours too. The beautiful, long synth chords are like pillows of sound, somewhere to rest your head and drift away. Halfway through comes the breakdown, where Kami really loses herself. A dark sounding bass rises. Could something bad be happening? Happily no, and as the music gradually fades to silence, a smile appears on your face.
