Scratch Academy's Serato Flip Tutorial

Serato Flip is the next plug in to change the live DJ game. Using familiar production and remix terminology, Flip allows you to do way more with cue points for each track. You're able to create custom loops that skip sections of songs ultimately giving you a new song altogether. New Zealand producer P Money was the first to suggest the idea to Serato while he was playing around with triggers manually to create his own beats. Now you don't need to export songs from Serato to another program in order to construct beat sketches for a live set.

Recently, Scratch Academy did a video tutorial with Gold Whistle's Cobra Krames on the basics of Flip. He shows you how easy it is to use your favorite parts of a song to make your own remixes on the fly. It ends with a short set by Cobra, incorporating the techniques that he teaches.

You can download the plug in on Serato's website.
