Besides having one of the more interesting DJ names out there, Buruaaaa doesn't have much to his name. He made an impressive run last year at the online DMC competition by coming in 5th at the World Finals stage. We also know that he represents Japan at these tournaments. Either he enjoys the mystery behind his life or there are certain sites only to be accessed within Japan. But as of now, we'll just have to be content with the minimal routines that he puts up online.
Now that the Online DMC tournament has started, we're excited to go through all of the submissions to display the best of the best. And although this entry from Buruaaaa is sitting at 9th place, it has some noteworthy moments that might push it into the next round. Titled as "Super wasawasa brothers routine," these couple of minutes by Buruaaaa match the intensity of the 16 bit "Can-Can" interpretation he uses as the music. He gives you a taste of what's to come by switching between the two decks with his free hand on both of the channel faders instead of the cross fader. He then body juggles the beat in multiple ways from his back to the tables to scratching with one arm behind the back to one arm juggling both turntables. Then comes the most impressive part where he switches between the two turntables rapidly with one hand on the channel faders instead of the traditional cross fader method. He does a quick scratch segment before using the FX lever while back spinning one record. Buruaaaa ends with a finale of flicking the cross fader along with the channel faders. There's a lot of action to account for in this one that merits more than one viewing.
Keep up with Buruaaaa on his Youtube.
