DJ Captain Crunch isn't your typical turntablist. You may not even recognize him as a respected DJ, if you passed by him on the street. The unassuming Brit won Best Breakthrough DJ in the 2011 Dubstep Music Awards and has signed to Buygore Records. Yes, as a turntablist, he choose Bass Music as his canvas. He's also performed with Foreign Beggars, Barenoize, and 16bit, while also serving as Resident Turntablist at and co-founder of Scratch Club London. He's not just nice on the turntables but also produces brain rattling remixes and original tracks. In an age where DJing and Dance music has reached all time highs in saturation, DJ Captain Crunch has found his niche and dominated it.

DJ Captain Crunch starts with a bit from comedian Russell Peters about certain DJing "techniques" then starts going in with very quick scratch pattern to match the beat of the first track. After smoothly mixing into the second track, he creates his own effect by pulling the record back a few times. He then triggers the next record with a Reloop NEON and uses the pads for a custom made rhythm for the transition. His crispness with scratching is apparent as he continues to match the fast BPM with his cuts. And Captain Crunch keeps it consistent even when he switches hands. He finally slows things down towards the end with the songs but doesn't ease up on the scratches. Take this as a lesson on mixing and scratching with BPM's outside your comfort level.
