If you look up turntablist, DJ, artist, or entertainer, all of them should list "Mr. Switch" as a synonym. If not, return that dictionary. The Brit has pushed the boundaries of what a DJ is "supposed" to be capable of, time and time again (see: 3x DMC Battle for Supremacy Champ, 2014 World DMC Champ, BBC Proms performance with the National Youth Orchestra). In case you need to catch up on the talent that is Mr. Switch, here's a convenient interview with him from a trustworthy source. Since stacking up his trophy room, he's continued to perform and share original routines that he's concocted for your enjoyment. What a nice guy, right?
Today's video comes courtesy of the British audio designer and manufacturer, Allen and Heath. They recently released a new mixer, the Xone:43C, and who better to showcase its quality other than Mr. Switch? Filmed at a lounge in Cornwall, England, the routine proves that the new mixer can handle anything you throw at it, and cleanly at that. Switch goes from old school Hip-Hop and beatbox samples into a more modern sound. Amateurs should figure out a way to slow the whole video down in order to take notes on the precision and nuances. One thing is always a given: Mr. Switch came to scratch.
