When you go to the DMC Battle For Supremacy Final, you want to see two of the top DJs leave it all on the platters, right? That's exactly what took place in London in 2013. Ritchie Ruftone, the 2014 IDA Technical World Champion, 5x UK DMC Champion, and 3x UK IDA Champion went up against DJ Vekked, the 2012 DMC World Supremacy Champ, 2x IDA World Champ, 5x Canadian Champ, and KOTD Battle DJ in a duel to remember. If you weren't able to attend, the DMC just posted the video a few days ago. Time to whip out the notepads. Both DJs were clearly deserving of the spots in the finals and regardless of the outcome, the world was bound to see much more of them afterwards. You just can't keep skills like those in the dark.
The two rounds between these two DJs couldn't have been more packed with impressive talent and creativity. The first pair of 90 second rounds featured heavy beat juggling from both Ritchie and Vekked. While Ritchie was handling the turntables more, Vekked opted to get busy with the cross fader. For the second pair of 90 second rounds, both DJs got a little more aggressive with their disses and then moved into scratch oriented routines. If you pay attention around the 4:25 mark, Ritchie breaks out the ill one handed cross fader-channel fader technique to bring the other turntable's beat in and out while scratching on the other. Both ended their rounds with a short, acapella scratch pattern.
We all know who came out victorious (Ruftone) but who do you think won? Let us know in the comments below.
