London duo, Third Party, are known for their uplifting and epic take on progressive house music. Their emotionally-charged sound gets feet moving and hands in the air like no one else.

After meeting in school, Third Party took their time coming up in the London dance music scene, playing at clubs all over the city. Their signature style helped them make a name for themselves and develop worldwide acclaim.

As Third Party drops their new track, Live Forever, Digital DJ Pool had the chance to catch up with them and find out what makes them tick.

Hi Third Party. We’re loving the new track, Live Forever. It’s got a real epic feel to it. What’s the message behind the track?

Live Forever is a special song for us. Not only is it the lead single from our album but we feel like it captures everything we try to be as Third Party. Just great uplifting progressive house with some meaning and a story for people to enjoy.

You’ve built up a live following with shows across the world. For those who haven’t seen you before, what can we expect from the Third Party live experience?

I think over the last 12 months we have really worked hard on the live side of things. Every time we’re making a track we’re thinking how it can work in a club and how we want it to look and feel, what visuals can work with the music etc. We want people to come to a Third Party show and experience something beyond just your favourite tracks and a laugh with your mates. The idea is to take our fans on a journey… musically, visually, and let them really lose themselves.

Duos can be notoriously volatile. How do you guys like to work in the studio? Talk a little bit about your track-making process.

We love there being two us! From the heated arguments to the general messing about and having a good time. It’s all constructive and helping us grow together which essentially makes the musical process come so naturally. Even if we’re throwing chairs at each other and disagreeing on something, we know the next day it will be straight back to normal and we will have learned something from it.

You’ve worked with and remixed some of the biggest names in dance music. Who would you like to collaborate with, but haven’t yet?

It’s probably said a lot, but acts like Daft Punk and Coldplay. Those artists that have the ability to create that magic and originality that very few people in the world can do.

What’s next for you in 2017? New material, festivals, touring?

We have lots of exciting stuff planned for 2017. We’ll be touring the album which will be amazing. Finally our fans will be able to hear first hand what we’ve been working on for 9 months. Some big festivals will be in there for sure! Then yeah, on to the next lot of material of course. We’re not stopping now!

Do you have any advice for anyone starting out in the industry?

Just stay true to yourself. We’ve really tried to make a stand with this album and say you don't need to make radio music or follow trends to follow your DJ dreams. Just make what you love and make it the best sh*t out there, even if it’s not what’s trendy or in fashion! Good music always shines through in the end. You just have to be patient sometimes. Hopefully that reflects in our music, and even if it inspires one fan then we’re happy.

Last question. Like all the best people, you’re from London. When you’re on the road, what do you take with you to remind you of home?

We’d like to say our very British/London personalities and accents haha. We try and stay as grounded as possible when we’re on tour and I think we bounce off each other and our UK team everywhere we go.
