After you've nearly depleted your bank accounts booking flights, hotels, passes, and purchasing sun block lotion, we're back with Part 2 of our must attend music festivals in 2016. This edition will take you through June and half of July. But don't use up all of your remaining funds since we have the third and final part of our music festival series coming next Tuesday. But we can't stop you from taking a loan out. In that case, we have no objections. Soundset
Where: Minnesota State Fairgrounds
When: May 29
Who: Atmosphere, The Roots, Future, Danny Brown, Post Malone, DJ Marley Marl, and more.
In its eighth year, this festival is the baby of independent record label Rhymesayers. There will be plenty of Hip-Hop's legends as well as the newer generation.
Governor's Ball
Where: Randall's Island, NY
When: June 3-5
Who: Kanye West, The Strokes, The Killers, Miike Snow, Galantis, and more.
Originally the only big music festival in New York, Governor's Ball continues its run of bringing in acts of all genres of all levels of fame. Keep in mind that Panorama is also happening this year in New York, which is owned by the same company as Coachella.
Bonnaroo
Where: Manchester, TN
When: June 9-12
Who: LCD Soundsystem, Flosstradamus, Zeds Dead, RL Grime, and more.
Meaning "a really good time" in Creole slang, Bonnaroo has lived up to its name year in and year out. There will be plenty of exercise activities to work off all that food you consume, arts, and even a play area for the kids.
Spring Awakening
Where: Chicago, IL
When: June 10-12
Who: TBA. Last year featured Eric Prydz, Zedd, Diplo, Hardwell, Afrojack, Tiesto, and more.
Although you might not know who's performing this year yet, Spring Awakening has preserved its reputation of curating some of the biggest names in Dance. And now with a new venue of Grant Park, more space means more music.
Mysteryland
Where: Bethel, NY
When: June 10-13
Who: Odesza, Skrillex, Bassnectar, Zeds Dead, Gesaffelstein, and more.
As the longest running Dance music festival (1993), Mysteryland returns to the Woodstock grounds for the third year. So pack your tents and extra underwear for this weekend getaway.
Sonar
Where: Barcelona, Spain
When: June 16-18
Who: A-Trak, Fatboy Slim, Busy P, Section Boyz, Kaytranada, Skepta, and more.
Started in 1994, Sonar is the self proclaimed International Festival of Advanced Music and Congress of Technology and Creativity. Sonar by Day takes places in Fira Montjuïc while Sonar by Night takes place in Fira Gran Via de L'Hospitalet so plan your stay to get the most out of the festival.
Firefly
Where: Dover, DE
When: June 16-19
Who: Deadmau5, Ludacris, Disclosure, M83, Major Lazer, Chvrches, Fetty Wap, and more.
Besides the headliners that everyone wants to see, Firefly also has a Treehouse Sessions stage for up and coming artists. They'll also have a Dogfish Head bar, coffeehouse, a farmer's market, and much more on site.
Electric Forest
Where: Rothbury, MI
When: June 23-26
Who: String Cheese Incident, Major Lazer, Bassnectar, Bonobo, Disco Biscuits, and more.
If you're looking for an otherworldly experience at a festival, Electric Forest is the place to be. Set in a forest, they transform the area into a fairy tale backdrop that will make you feel like you took something you shouldn't have.
Essence
Where: New Orleans Superdome, LA
When: June 30-July 3
Who: Dej Loaf, Kendrick Lamar, Lion Babe, Maxwell, Tyrese, MC Lyte, and more.
After losing your mind at some of the biggest Dance festivals, Essence is a great way to calm the nerves. The lineup has some smooth R&B and Hip-Hop to center your chakra.
Bunbury
Where: Cincinnati, OH
When: July 3-5
Who: The Killers, Big Grams, Ice Cube, Haim, Grimes, and more.
PromoWest Productions has expanded the festival to include two main stages this year. Just another reason for you to "bunbury," or make up an excuse to get out of something boring, that weekend.
Exit Magic
Where: Novi Sad, Serbia
When: July 7-10
Who: Wiz Khalifa, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Nicky Romero, Shlomo, and more.
With over 20 stages, Exit Magic has reaffirmed its right to winning the best European festival in 2014. You might need a vacation from this vacation if you make it to all of the acts.
Camp Bisco
Where: Scranton, PA
When: July 14-16
Who: RL Grime, Disco Biscuits, Big Grizmatik, Odesza, STS9, Zeds Dead, RL Grime, Keys N Krates, and more.
Camp Bisco takes place at a great outdoor venue that's also a water park. Where else can you jam to RL Grime on a lazy river?
Pitchfork
Where: Chicago, IL
When: July 15-17
Who: Brian Wilson, Anderson .Paak, Sufjan Stevens, Holy Ghost!, Miguel, Jeremih, and more.
The well respected, independent run website returns with its festival billed with its favorite artists this July. Just hope that it doesn't pour on you, making the ground a nasty mush, like last year.
