Jay Valdez better known as DJ Akshen is one of Arizona’s premier talents. His creative mixing and crowd-pleasing selection is one of the many reasons why he was crowned Phoenix Regional Red Bull 3Style Champion in 2015. Akshen went on to represent the South West and compete for the USA title. He’s shared the stage with Lord Finesse, Egyptian Lover, The X-excutioners, DJ Qbert and Z-Trip. He is also a special guest DJ for Disney Cruise Lines. When Akshen is not behind the turntables you can find him hosting Fader Manners an open turntable monthly event he co-founded. As well as The Scratch Exchange, an all vinyl scratch battle he created back in 2013. Akshen has had the privilege of judging, hosting, competing and organizing multiple DJ battles in AZ. He has shared his knowledge of DJing with organizations like the YMCA, numerous after school and youth programs, Scottsdale Community College, Arizona State University, Mesa Community College and Grand Canyon University's Hip-Hop Club. Some of his clients include Red Bull, UnidosUS formerly known as the National Council of La Raza, The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and Disney and to name a few.
