DJ CQ (The Conquistador) came of age and cut his teeth in Indianapolis, IN. Always a fan of rap and hip hop, he discovered a mixtape one day, which made the art of hip hop sound even better to him.. In those days, one would have to travel to the inner city of Indy to buy these underground mixtapes. Even while his time in the army, his passion for mixing never left him, and was the enthusiast that would approach any DJ he encountered at the clubs or parties across the U.S. Once out of the army, it was in college, he and his roommate threw down on a mixer and some turntables. Just recently crossing over from a bedroom DJ, and living outside of Seattle, he’s branched out and has done a gig or two at some local clubs in the Seattle area. Although he is a multi facet DJ, his passion as a turntablist is for contemporary rap, old school hip hop, and R&B. Inspired by Indy DJ’s, JF The Legend, DJ World, Top Speed, and DTL. In north Seattle, he has worked with DJ Eva (Seattle DJ Academy) and TuNNel Vision Entertainment2 (MayBaQUE).
