Born with a passion in music; he has managed to grasp the basics of music production and deejaying.
Starting off as a rapper/song writer, he got into producing due to not having easy access to instrumentals to rap on. Little did he know that he’d eventually learn the concept of deejaying and then go on to work with some of the best in the Perth and Kenyan Music scene.
His music career (production and rapping) did not kick off as well as he had anticipated and decided to DJ professionally when he was called to do a local show for the Kenyan community.
His first show was in Novemeber 2011 when he was the supporting act for Nameless and Wyre who are Kenyan based artists. It was at this time that he decided that deejaying was his calling.
He then went on to land a spot at Bar Orient in Fremantle, where they had a regular Reggae event run weekly. Due to his inexperience at the time, he used to be given the opening spots and then progressed to having the main set in the span of a few months.
During his time at Bar Orient, he managed to land shows in mainly Reggae, Hip Hop and Afro-beats; Playing for artists such as Gramps Morgan, Left Side, Brick and Lace amongst other local reggae artists based in Perth and internationally. He was also part of the DJ line up for the yearly Bob Marley outernational event in 2014.
Besides playing for events, he has managed to DJ at club shows in Perth, Australia venues such as; the Railway Hotel and East End Bar all in Fremantle, Club Bayview in Claremont, Matches bar and the Bakery in Northbridge, Club Kahuna (Formerly Red Sea), Gold Bar and Flawless all in Subiaco, Metro City (Solace Bar, Copper Bar and the Main Arena) and Crooked Q’s in Nairobi, Kenya.
In 2014 he rose from being a bedroom DJ known by few to a professional club DJ when he hosted the now popular “Kenyan Nights” in Perth. He managed to curtain raise for DJ Hassan from Homeboyz Entertainment, DJ Adrian and DJ Joe Mfalme both from Capital FM, and deejayed while Nameless performed in Adelaide, Sydney and Perth Australia.
His unique style in music has made him stand out from the rest and also gain respect from his seniors and peers. His musical knowledge includes Hip Hop, Dance Hall, Reggae, RnB, Afro-beats, Afro-fusion, Afro-House and a bit of EDM and Trap. His speciality is music, and prefers not to limit himself to a certain genre as the wide knowledge is what influences his distinct sound.
