Mixing and mingling, cutting and chopping, Jstar has been pumping out
reggae tinged remixes and productions for over ten years now. The
staple sounds of his West London musical heritage echo through his DJ
sets of tropical Jamaican flavours and grimey street bass, taking you on
a vibing rhythmic journey, celebrating an eclectic mix of music genres
from rocksteady to heavy dub to DnB.
Jstar’s home-grown vinyl label first became known for reggae remixes
of the hits like Blackstreet’s – No Diggity (Real Rock) and Blu Cantrell –
Blushanti (Shanty Town), grabbing the attention of DJs including
Norman Jay, John Peel, Grandmaster Flash and Diplo.
A rising reputation meant Jstar was soon working on productions for
major artists and record companies including EMI, Sony, V2, Acid Jazz,
Fashion, DJ Vadim, Major Lazer, Madness among many others.
