The Siberian DJ and producer Chell was an avid breakdancer from 2000 to 2009. But when he started getting interested in DJing in 2007, he had to make a decision between pursuing one passion over the other. Since he chose the turntables, he's won the Battle of the Three capitals in 2010, Beat4Battle in 2013, and DJ HelpScratch Battle #2 in 2013. He also spent some time in China DJing some of the top clubs. Outside of DJing, Chell is a part of Advaita, LeArestantzz, Kip Bass, Radio Zombie, Streat Special Band, the violin duet V-play, and has worked with musicians like ElectroGorilla. He also has a podcast on an independent radio station called "E-radio" and can still tear it up on the dance floor.

Today we get to see Chell's Vice Champion routine in the Show Category at the 2015 IDA Finals. He starts off by giving himself plenty of props before lightly scratching over a man talking about the new age of DJs who are something more than what you expect. He then moves into a more scratch heavy segment that follows a rhythm on the upbeat. Then it's on to some beat juggling that changes almost as often as bar to bar. After some body juggles he slows down the beat in half time as he switches between the two decks. The juggling only gets more complex from here. Chell then reveals a vocal sample that ties into the title of the routine--"The New Generation of the HEROES"--and a peaceful instrumental. Before going back to scratching the acapella track more, he creates a beat on his beat pad. He switches between cuing up a spot on the record as well as his trigger keys to maximize the display of his skills. Although the ending doesn't use an adrenaline rush inducing song, Chell adds an artistic flavor to it with perfectly timed DJ techniques.
