Gabriel Rothchild (Charles Callaway) is a 38 y/o EDM powerhouse. Their work started quietly at the tender age of eight years old sitting under their grandmothers piano ear glued to the soundboard. Rothchild has since pursued music relentlessly from toy boom boxes with plastic microphones and record players found in school trash cans Rothchild has managed to make some kind of noise. “My family was just my mother and I in the beginning and money was tight so I had to piece together recording equipment I found in the trash or thrift store with a boombox with a tape player from a dollar store” Rothchild has been engineering creative solutions since the beginning in order to record what was pounding in their chest. “My grandmother and I would sit for hours and listen to music on her Bose stereo I was so consumed with the sound and the bass really sounded good”. “My whole family is musical my grandmother an opera singer in Germany my Aunt a music teacher and my mother who sang in the church band.” During rehearsals at their mother’s church Rothchild an intersex person, was introduced in the world of sound engineering. “ I sat behind a Mackie console for the first time and fell completely in love.” Rothchild’s career began in a voluntary capacity at several churches. “I would show up to the church before everyone else and set up for the nights service. I would always go early so I had an hour or two to play all of the instruments while I was alone, and since I ran sound I could get it loud!”. Rothchild worked for almost a decade as a live sound and recording engineer even recording and mixing live services for broadcast on NBC while they were in high school. “ There is nothing better than the energy you feel off the crowd when the lights go down and those first waves get pushed off the cones of the speakers, It’s electric.” Rothchild with the help of Joe Breckenridge began to experiment with MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) a technology still relatively new to the market during high school. “I purchased my first DAW (digital audio workstation) and after hearing a review from Ray Charles decided to go with Roland’s Cakewalk”. “I fell in love with programming my own rhythms and melodies I had an entire orchestra in my computer I was in composer heaven”. Rothchild recorded privately for years before collaborating with Minor Meriwether and Benjamin Thomas their first two collaborations. “This was the first time I worked with someone else and it sounded good.” The projects “Arcane and Passion” and “Space Angel” early 2000’s were released on MySpace both alternative rock albums. “MySpace was the coolest thing we had ever seen and now we were real and on the internet.” Neither album saw major success but the path had been paved and Rothchild had no intention of stopping. “It wasn’t until 2025 that I fully committed to putting my work on the chopping block I signed up to Groover and met Eric McClellan, the man worked with Seymour Stien! I started playing home my music and taking his coaching to heart.” McClellan now with “Yo Peep This” has been a driving force behind Rothchild’s career. “I keep telling him he is going to be my manager one day, he says not yet and keeps pushing me harder.” Rothchild’s work is now playing at major Venues Around the world including REBEL Toronto, and Drake Underground where Billy Eylish got her feet wet. Rothchild has made it to several radio stations including CJLO 107.9 FM Montreal and has reached the DJ’s at KOST 103.5 FM Los Angeles California. Rothchild is climbing into their seat as the next EDM icon and the world is listening from five story shopping malls in Melbourne, New York and Taiwan to central station in Warsaw Poland, you may have already heard their music and don’t realize it. “Every song every performance is for you and I to share in the most important feeling in the world LOVE.” Rothchild is featured monthly on Parnu ( Estonia) Club Radio at PCR.FM and has recently released the new single “Cuz I Do” on all major distribution platforms Apple Spotify etc… “Thank you for listening to Gabriel Rothchild Music.”
