When it comes to music, there's no denying Majik's passion for it. Born in Brooklyn New York to carribean parents, he was introduced to the art of music at a very young age. From vinyl record to cassettes and later cd's, he was surrounded by a good collection of many records on a regular basis, due to his father's own collection. Music and becoming a DJ sparked an interest to Majik naturally. He was inspired by a thread of family members who were DJ's in the 80's and 90's and there was no stopping his interest for music ever since.
The 1988 dancehall record, "Half My Age" by Sanchez & Lady G, was the first record Majik ever purchased himself, initiating the beginning of his obsession and love for music. Growing up as a teen in Flatbush, Majik would often see flyers posted everywhere of all the top sounds like Addies, Earthruler, Bass Oddessey, and many others promoting all up and coming events that would take place at the iconic Biltmore Ballroom. This inspired Majik, as he wanted to have the same musical influence and aspired to be part of a foundation just as good as the greats. He later partnered with a friends who lived in his building and started a sound system and named it "Super C", of which was a short lived, right before moving out of Brooklyn.
At 17yrs old, Majik's family decided to move to Rosedale Queens. It was there he met and connected with two other DJ's that shared the same passion for music. Shortly there after, In 1995 they became a team in creating the unique sound "King Shiloh". Majik's popularity as a DJ for King Shiloh grew tremendously throughout the years, but it wasn't enough, as he wanted to move forward in pursuing producing and song writing. Following his instinct, in 2007 Majik relocated to Atlanta GA where he became chief engineer and producer of Scotch Bonnett Studios. His first few projects included Jimmy Cozier and Jim Jones. He also worked with many local up in coming artist, and played an important role in artist development. He produced different genres of music like Hip hop, Reggae, R&B, Doowop, and Rock, setting the tone of his abilities as a producer.
In 2011, Majik decided to take his creativity to a new and challenging venture, moving to Ontario Canada and starting JikMuzik Productions as he continued to pursue his passion. In September 2017, he produced a riddim called "Game Ova", of which he received a huge response from different artists as well as growth in popularity on different platforms. Majik continues to work on numerous projects, while continuously perfecting his craft in making beats, producing, and songwriting, taking his creativity and JikMuzik Productions to new heights.
