DJ Righteous is worthy of his namesake. The hip-hop veteran has been a household name in the state of Virginia for quite a while. Growing up with architects of the genre like J Dilla and Pete Rock, he would also draw off of funk and dancehall influences such as Earth, Wind, & Fire and Herbie Hancock to develop a sound within the genre that balanced tropical riddims and sample-based melodies with punchy drum work. One of the true talents in the DMV area, DJ Righteous has compiled a successful discography and a budding record label, Boondox Records LLC, that gives other local talents a chance to showcase their skills and offer the city the same opportunities it gave him back in the day
