Originally founded in 1989 as “Rock Box Productions”, RBP evolved over the years (starting with the “R-H-O-Q” spelling of “rock” in 1994) and in 2000 was re-christened as “Rhoq Solid Entertainment”. In 2004, RSE joined forces with DJ Legend to resurrect the Philadelphia-based Freestyle label Total Kaos Records (best known for “Trouble Love”, “I Love You So” and “No Reason For Tears” by The DuLaio Twinz). That project was short-lived and I have moved on, looking to establish Rhoq Solid Entertainment as it’s own, separate entity.
As you will hear – I am still fully committed to Freestyle and when all is said and done, I hope the hardcore fans will be more than pleased.
Back in 2004, my first finished production turned out to be the final song from Allentown, PA’s True Passion: “Forgive Me”. Former True Pasion member Joey Tee and I continued to work together until parting ways in October 2010. Joey still records and has a released new music via his own label, Str84ward Entertainment (a/k/a Str84ward-Menage3 Entertainment).
In 2007, I started working with Pica (previously known for his 1995 Tango Records debut single “Was My One & Only”). Pica’s debut single with RSE, “Bum Diddy Boom”, was released in 2009 and quickly became a hit with Freestyle DJs around the world. In 2011, Pica left Rhoq Solid Entertainment.
On March 1, 2009, Wilson’s debut single, “I Was Lost”, was released to Freestyle iRadio stations and, for a limited time, as a free MP3 download to Freestyle fans everywhere. Wilson has quickly become one of Freestyle music’s hottest new stars and is currently enjoying success with 2 new songs produced by DJ Bryski: “Stay” and “Surrender” on Hestia Records.
On December 5, 2009, Joey Tee & Pica: The Split EP was released. This album featured 12 tracks (9 songs, 2 bonus mixes and an “RSE Message”). A limited quantity of CDs were sold at live shows. In May 2014, a remastered and expanded edition was released as Joey Tee & Pica: The Split LP and is currently available via all major digital distribution outlets (iTunes, Amazon MP3, Google Play, CD Baby etc.) for download.
In January 2010 my remix of “Obviously” by ADM Records artist Jessica Fabus hit YouTube and earned the praise of the song’s writer, Ron Esco, in addition to Freestyle fans all around the world. I would like to thank Carlos “After Dark” Berrios for his words of wisdom and encouragement during the times when I was ready to give up.
More recently, RSE has been working new talent, Latino Rosario. His first single, “Never Be Forgotten” was released on January 31, 2012 and is available through all major digital music stores including iTunes, Amazon, Google Play and CD Baby. Latino Rosario’s second single, “Missing You”, was released on May 15, 2012.
In June 2012, the Angel Mena’s NSR Remix of the RSE track, “Endless Heaven” appeared on his New School Royalty – Deluxe Edition compilation. RSE finished out 2012 on a high note with the release of the original version of Erik Christian’s “Endless Heaven” on December 28th. It is available for purchase through all major digital music stores.
MY WORLD – the debut album by Latino Rosario was released digitally and on limited edition CD on July 15, 2014.
The long-awaited single for “Another Love” by R.S.E. featuring Denine was released on September 2, 2014.
We closed 2014 with remastered re-issues of “I Was Lost” by Wilson and “The Reason” by Joey Tee making these songs widely available for the first time.
2015 will see new music from Latino Rosario, KennyFreestyle and an RSE/NSR collaboration with Angel Mena.
