Emily B is a music artist and classically trained musician, releasing music in many genres including pop, R'n'B, jazz, soul, dance, drum and bass, disco, triphop & reggae. Not only a singer, Emily B also plays saxophone, piano and many other instruments. She is a sound engineer and trained at The Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a Diploma in Music Technology and also trained at The Round House Studios in Farringdon, London.
Starting her music career making tea for Petula Clark & Mungo Jerry at Red Bus Recording Studios in Marylebone, London to then becoming Studio Assistant at a recording studio run by famous session musicians - guitarist/bassist Erwin Keiles and trumpeter John Thirkell who played for Level 42, Jamiroquai, Three Degrees, Lisa Stansfield and many other big 70's, 80's & 90's artists. Through them she met famous producer Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams) and recorded saxophonist Snake Davis! Emily enjoyed session singing for them and also met with Billie Ocean’s manager Laurie Jay!!
With this experience she built and managed her own commercial recording studio in Watford called The Sound Cube for ten years. She recorded, edited and mixed every session - including singers, musicians and groups of all kinds. It became very popular for kids’ birthday parties including celebrities’ kids like Nicholas Lyndhurst’s (Rodney Trotter) son and Tony Blackburn’s daughter.
Emily B duetted with Dennis from Musical Youth on a version of ‘Pass The Dutchie’. If you recall the original ‘Pass The Dutchie’ was number 1 in several countries around the world. Dennis from Musical Youth quotes in an interview with Kairen Kemp who presents for BBC Radio and Radio Reverb, the reason he was happy to do the track with Emily B was due to her previous hard work on the track, which made it easier for him to partner up with her.

Emily B has a strong online fanbase following across her platforms and has gained support and airplay from several radio stations in the UK, Ireland and abroad including BBC Radio 1 Xtra, BBC Introducing, BBC Oxford, BBC 6 Tom Robinson's show and interviews at BBC Three Counties Radio & Watford Hospital Radio. Some of Emily B's songs have also been used on episodes of Channel 4's Hollyoaks.
So Good EP written by Emily B
Emily B was Record Of The Week on Carlow FM in Ireland twice. Once for ‘So Good’ and then for ‘Like A Butterfly’. Also Emily B was nominated for Record Of The Year on Carlow FM where the track ‘So Good’ came fifth out of all the hundreds of thousands of records that have been played on that radio station and Emily B was the first ever artist at Carlow FM ever interviewed.
Islington Radio who is also a lover of Emily B’s music i.e. DJ Del (Songbird Sessions) has now requested to do several tracks with Emily B.
After finally breaking away from record labels that did not put the time, effort or promotion into her, Emily B decided to walk away from all that negativity. She is now under new management - ‘Thirst Light Springer’ who’s allowing her to express herself musically in many different ways from jazz to rock, pop and dance music and not taking away her name on the tracks that kept her as an unknown.
Emily B's tracks 'Ready To Go', 'We Should Be Together', 'Like A Butterfly', 'Always', 'Start Again' and 'Something Out There' reached number 1 organically in the editorial playlist on Boomplay, an African streaming site which has 75 million monthly users. Her tracks 'So Good' and 'Falling' also featured in the top 5 in editorial playlists!
Future
There are now talks with an up and coming rapper in Africa who Emily B will be doing 2 x tracks, possibly an album with this artist - name to be announced later.
The first release of 2025 ‘Got To Get Your Own’ is Emily B’s spiritual come back into the music industry as herself Emily B.
