Born in August of '73 (just like Hip-Hop) Etch The Hy General has been a lifelong muzik junkie. From the 8-track tape to vinyl to cassette to Reel 2 Reel tape to cd to mp3...Etch has been on a never-ending quest to consume and digest the best of what the muzik universe has to offer. In the midst of this quest, the title of DJ was bestowed upon Etch by his peers/friends/community. Curating, cultivating and collecting sonic elements that contribute to "the NOD factor" has been Etch's innate function since he could hold his head upright. Etch The Hy General is the co-founder of the FUNK OPS MERCENARY CRU, a select "army" of multigenerational DJ's that includes the Mighty DJ Admir-El, Lieutenant Juice and others.
