Louis Robinson is co-owner and founder of London based record label "We Scream Records" and holds down a weekly radio residency on London's Dance Power Station "Electric". His love and passion for music is what drives him to produce and DJ music within the vast variety of "House".
Coming from the small UK town of Swindon Louis grew up with the burning desire to develop a career within the music industry. Starting out playing instruments in small bands and diving into music communities within his home town, Louis searched for mentors and peers to help educate him on his path. With an open mind he sought after mentors from as many genres as possible to help enrich his musical knowledge. Guitar teachers, local Hip Hop enthusiasts, Djs, bands and like minded friends where the foundations of Louis' journey.
After studying music at secondary school Louis set his sights on heading to college to learn the skills behind music technology and the production of music, these were the years that really inspired him to a career within the electronic side of the music industry. Straight away Louis was bitten by the production bug and with the help of who he considers to be his best mentors to date, he dedicated every hour he could to honing his productions skills and developing his art.
Louis waisted no time in putting together projects, working on productions and gathering groups of like minded people all who wanted to flourish their art within music. Quickly he started to realise making music was his heart and soul but realised it didn't have to end their, now it was time for him to learn how to showcase his work. At this time youth clubs were popping up in Swindon to help get kids off the streets and help to find them positive places to hang out. One of these clubs was based right in the centre of Swindon's Hip Hop community, so with the help of local Djs and producers a studio was thrown together and became an effective "writers bench" for music enthusiasts. With the help of Djs running this newly formed hub Louis worked on learning the skills behind being a DJ. Being a Hip Hop lead community Louis' found himself learning the art form of Djing on a pair of old "Technics" turntables with libraries of music he had never heard before. Before long he was scratching away and even though much to his mentor at the times disapproval he bought himself his first set of CDJ's.
At this point Louis was turning 18, this was the time Louis head out to local night clubs and bars to make connections with more DJs. Louis engrossed himself in the dance culture of Swindon by getting involved with events, festivals and pretty much living inside night clubs while they were open. Coming to the end of college Louis now set his sights on heading to the capital city of the UK London to dive deeper into his musical path. The most affordable way for Louis to make the move to London was to head to University where, again he studied Music Technology.
Not long after his move to London Louis was introduced to the thriving culture and community of House music which, is what lead him to using his developed skills to work within the many genres of House.
Louis is now a resident radio presenter on London's Dance Power Station "Electric", Co owner of "We Scream Records" and has been lucky enough to play in venues such as "Ministry Of Sound" and "XOYO", Louis hopes to carry on working to make a consistent career from his achievements and continues to be driven by his passion for music.
