DJ Mr. Rogers is a Houston-based hip-hop DJ, record producer, engineer and mixtape composer hailing from Dallas, Texas.
Mr. Rogers’ interest in music began at an early age being influenced by his father's vast music collection. In 2000, he enrolled at Prairie View A&M University where he earned his bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering Technology. While studying, Mr. Rogers began working as a DJ at local college parties and producing both his own "Chopped & Screwed" and promotional mixtapes then advancing into music production and audio engineering.
Throughout his career, DJ Mr. Rogers has worked on national tours with Letoya Luckett as well as Slim Thug, and has produced Billboard charting records such as Trae The Truth’s “Swang” ft. Fat Pat & Pimp C, Hurricane Chris’ “Walk Like That”, Dorrough’s “Walk That Walk”, The Party Boyz’s “Flex”, and Dom Kennedy's "1997". He has received engineering credits on various works such as The Notorious B.I.G.’s “Biggie Duets”, Gwen Stefani’s “Love. Angel. Music. Baby.” Slim Thug’s “Already Platinum” albums, and Beyonce’s hit single “Check Up On It” from the Pink Panther Soundtrack. In 2009 Mr. Rogers released the Chopped & Screwed version of Drake's "So Far Gone" mixtape. Then in 2012 Mr. Rogers collaborated with his fellow Chopstar DJs OG Ron C and DJ Candlestick to release the Chopped Up, Not Slopped Up version of A$AP Rocky's "Live, Love, A$AP" mixtape. Mr. Rogers also performed as an official SXSW artist in the first ever SXSW Official DJ showcase and was voted as the city’s “Best Rap DJ” in 2011 and 2013 by Houston Press.
While currently mixing on-air twice a day on KQBT 93.7 The Beat - Houston, maintaining weekly residency at seven nightclubs in Houston and Dallas, and securing a spot among the prestigious DJ coalition, The Academy, Mr. Rogers has proven that this is only the beginning of his long and successful career in music. He is quickly becoming one of the most sought after DJs in the entire country, expanding to include gigs in Dallas, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Denver and Los Angeles because of his creativity, his ear for music, as well as his unique ability to quickly observe a crowd’s taste. If you haven’t had the opportunity to witness Mr. Rogers in the mix, there’s no better time than the present.
