Ryje Ryder, long-time resident of Japan, mixes basics of house, dance, pop, hiphop, and rnb, with a bit of the blues, dancehall, reggae, rock, metal, techno, electro, dnb, and more thrown in at times. Most recent gig was at ARENA in Shimokitazawa near Shibuya. On the prowl for more gigs in Tokyo or surrounding regions. Uploads DJ mixes to Mixcloud with promo video and audio on Instagram. Used to spin vinyl and CDs and organize events as DJ K at clubs, bars and other venues in Tokyo (2006-2010). Especially enjoyed the chance to organize own events with other DJs, singers, rappers, and artists at Bala 2 and Club Farafina. Most of these venues, some nine years later, are probably out of business at this point. Previous to living in Japan, had experience as a college radio DJ from 1999-2001 doing various genre shows (world, hip hop, rock) with brief news reports and advertisements at the OSU campus in Oregon, USA. As for music in general, was also into guitar and tenor saxophone, and trained in flute and reading music in band early on. Did a few local jams with punk and rock nothing bands, and the occasional slam poetry event, not very big stuff but rockin lively fun.
