TC Thompkins is a legend in the business of entertainment. Over the years, the highly talented businessman has had his hand in every facet of the industry and worked with celebrated artists from yesteryear until now. From Michael Jackson, Patti Labelle, Sade and Alicia Keys to Gucci Man, Flo Rida, Snoop Dog and Arrested Development, Thompkins name is associated with their success. The music tycoon began his illustrious career in the early 70’s at Stax Records where he served as a Southeast Sales Representative with the label’s effort to begin its own distribution network. This position led him to become the East Coast Regional Promotional Manager for custom labels. In this capacity he worked with a pantheon of diverse and unparalleled names like Eddie Floyd, Issac Hayes, Richard Pryor, Rance Allen, the Emotions and many more. Thompkins went on to become the Southeast Regional Promotional Manager for Capitol Records where he worked with and played a major role in the development of superstars like Maze, Natalie Cole and Tavares. As Regional Promotional manager for ABC Records, Thompkins played a major role in the careers of Rufus & Chaka Kahn, the Dramatics, the Pointer Sisters and BB King. Whether it’s been a major label (Motown, MCA, Virgin or Epic where he serviced as VP) or a custom situation, under Thompkins innovative direction, he has helped to generate billions of dollars in revenue for his corporate clients. As if his resume isn’t already a testament to his creative genius, he has also developed promotional and marketing campaigns for the following artists and groups: Michael Jackson, Teena Marie, Teddy Pendergrass, Patti Labelle, Sade, Guy, Teddy Riley, Luther Vandross, the Isley Brothers, Mtume, SOS Band, Culture Club, Heatwave, the O’Jays. The multi-media mogul launched Thompkins Marketing LLC in (1991) where he continues to exude his Midas touch over a long client roster, including the rising R&B/Soul talent known as George Tandy Jr. As result of his experiences in the industry and his close association with some of the music industry’s icons and legendary performers, he was encouraged to begin his consulting company. . Thompkins Marketing has become known as one of the leading entertainment consulting firms in America. His reputation and knowledge of this business has been the key element that’s made the difference.
