Drew Gilbert, better known as Texas Drew, is an American hip-hop and electronic producer from Dallas, Texas. Gilbert began performing as a drummer and percussionist, marching for a World Championship, WGI percussion ensemble. He would become the youngest member to make the All Area Concert Ensemble in the Southern Region of America. Gilbert was awarded a full ride scholarship to Berklee College of Music where he began pursuing production exclusively. Post graduation, Gilbert moved west to pursue music production full-time in Los Angeles. In November of 2015 he signed a publishing contract with Big Idea Music and began syndicating his music to large commercial success. His remix of the Jackson 5’s ‘I Want You Back’ saw instantaneous success and was then signed and licensed to Universal / Motown Records. He’s known to frequently partner with Multi-Grammy winning producer and mixing engineer Jan Fairchild. Fairchild, famous for his industry defining work with Mary J Blige, Pharrell, Michael Bolton, The Roots and Mos Def. Gilbert has also worked with Evren Göknar of Capitol Records, on a collaboration with Elliot James, that saw mass commercial appeal and MTV rotation in 6 territories and 2 continents. In the past month Texas Drew recently released 4 new original songs and remixes. He’s currently working to push his artistry to the next level within the electronic music scene.
